The Furniture Bank now has dresser-building crews (6-10 people each) on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and are producing an average 15 dressers per week. To put this in perspective, in calendar 2010, we received 2,500 dressers in donations, but we served 3,600 families. With an average of 15 dressers per week being produced, this will add 750 dressers in the next 12 months, putting us much closer to having dressers for all families. These volunteers are making a great gift to the families we serve every day through the donation of their time and talent, as are the other weekly volunteers who guide table-making crews, paint and repair furniture.
Our sincere thanks to Mason Pilcher, Ron Cygnor, Lou Gatch, Mike Quinn, David Chenault, a large number of other volunteers who belong to the Woodworkers of Central Ohio, and still other regular volunteers who simply enjoy woodworking and helping those in need. These volunteers often work from 9:00am till 3:00pm on their selected day each week.
