Help Us Spread the Word
Marketing research suggests that 10,000 - 12,000 families each year struggle financially to furnish their own homes. The Furniture Bank is working to collect enough furniture to serve ALL these families annually - i.e., triple in size.
To do this, we need to make ALL central Ohio families aware of the Furniture Bank, the great need in our community, and the ease of our FREE furniture pickup.
If all financially capable households would donate 1 or 2 items once every 8 years, the Furniture Bank would triple the amount of furniture collected each year -- allowing us to serve all 10,000 - 12,000 families in need.
There are many other ways you can help the Furniture Bank furnish homes for families. You can help in the client showroom, provide office assistance, furniture assembly, help plan and implement special events, and tell everyone you know to give their furniture instead of discarding it in the landfill. You can find descriptions of ongoing volunteer opportunities here.
The Furniture Bank staff is happy to speak to civic, church, corporate and government groups about our mission and how organizations can partner with us to help serve families in need of furniture in central Ohio.

The Furniture Bank is GREEN!
When you donate furniture, you are helping to recycle and keep the 50,000 solid items that the Furniture Bank collects each year out of the landfill. This is a 23-foot high pile or furniture, covering one acre, and more than 35,000 cubic yards that is kept out of the landfill.
**This is about 305 semi-trailers packed full of furniture that is being recycled each year. **
