Items we accept

If it’s in your home, chances are we can take it if it meets our donation standards. To qualify for a free or priority pickup, you must have an essential item listed below.Standard Free Pickups are limited to roughly 10 furniture items, and we offer Bulk and Cleanout services for larger pickups.Dropoffs are always welcomed at our warehouse in Franklinton during select hours.

Essential Furniture Items

These items qualify you for one of our pickup services if they meet our donation standards below:

  • Mattresses
  • Dressers
  • Kitchen Chairs
  • Refrigerators (Up to 15 years old)
  • Ovens/Stoves (15 years old or newer)
  • Box Springs
  • Kitchen and Dining Tables (no glass tops)
  • Sofas, couches, loveseats and stuffed chairs
  • Washers & Dryers (Electric Only)

Other Accepted Items

If you qualify for a pickup with at least one essential item above, we will also take the following items if they meet our donation standards. We will also accept these items for drop off at our Yale Avenue location without an essential item during our drop off hours.

  • Bed Frames (No platform, waterbed or captains beds)
  • Nightstands
  • Small Desks (Up to 4? wide)
  • Bar Stools
  • Sheets, blankets, pillows, towels and other linens
  • Small Kitchen Appliances (Toasters, Coffee Pots, Crock Pots, mixers, etc)
  • Table Linens
  • Glassware, dishes, pots and pans and silverware
  • Coffee Tables (no glass)
  • Ottomans
  • Lamps
  • Artwork
  • TVs (no old tube or projection units, must be cable ready and 32? or smaller)
  • TV Stands and Entrainment Centers (not to exceed 4? W X 6? H)
  • Bookcases (not to exceed 4? W X 6? H)
  • Cabinets (not to exceed 4? W X 6? H)
  • Lamps
  • Bookshelves
  • Storage Bins and boxes
  • Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories
  • Sports, fitness and camping equipment
  • Electronics- DVD/Blue Ray players, stereo receivers, speakers, flat-screen monitors, tablets and other items in good working order
  • Children’s toys (without recalls)
  • Books, Magazines, DVDs and VHS Tapes
  • Board Games and Puzzles
  • Knickknacks and household decorations
  • Small musical instruments (no pianos or organs)
  • Jewelry
  • Crafts
  • Baskets
  • Tools
  • and most other household items!

Items we do not accept:

  • Cribs, car seats, high chairs or changing tables
  • Waterbeds, platform beds, captain’s beds or trundle beds
  • Adjustable beds or hospital beds (call Helping Hands Medical Ministry)
  • Large or metal desks
  • Metal filing cabinets
  • Office cubicles
  • Walkers or medical equipment (call Helping Hands Medical Ministry)
  • Dishwashers or other built-in appliances
  • Liquids
  • Pianos and organs
  • Firearms or firearm accessories

Donation Standards

We pride ourselves on giving quality furniture to those in need. At the time of a donation, we will inspect items to assure they meet our donation standards. That means:

  • No rips, tears, stains, or tape patches in the fabric
  • No pet hair or pet stains embedded in the fibers
  • No bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, or evidence of mice or other rodents or insects
  • No recalled or damaged items
  • Appliances must be working, with all parts, and must be clean
  • No urine, blood or other health risks

If we are unable to accept your items for donation for any of these reasons, we offer a disposal service for a fee at the time of pickup.
